31 Killed As Bus Plunges in India
NEW DELHI, India (AP) _ A passenger bus plunged out of control into a gorge in India’s lower Himalayas, killing 31 people, a domestic news agency reported Tuesday. Seventeen people survived the crash.
Those who died in the Garhwal region of northern India late Monday included two children and five women, United News of India reported. The bus was owned by the government-run transport corporation of Uttar Pradesh state.
The accident occurred near the town of Bhansali town, 135 miles north of New Delhi. No other details were immediately available.
