JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ Detron Smith, a fullback who played the last six seasons for the Denver Broncos and made the Pro Bowl as a special teams player in 1999, was signed Monday by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Smith, 28, has played in 91 games in his six-year career. For his career, he has five carries for 17 years, 12 receptions for 89 yards, two touchdowns, and 11 kickoff returns for 140 yards.

On special teams, Smith has made 54 tackles, blocked a punt for a safety, forced three fumbles and recovered three fumbles.

``Detron Smith is an experienced fullback and an exceptional special teams player,'' said Jaguards coach Tom Coughlin. ``He has played on two Super Bowl championship teams and is an outstanding player who will be a force in the locker room.''
