Nebraska High School Cage Star Dies At 48
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Bob Gratopp, an all-state player from Geneva who played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1968 through 1970, has died of a pulmonary embolism. He was 48.
Gratopp was inducted into the Nebraska Basketball Hall of Fame this year.
Until his death Sunday, he ``still had that love for sports,″ said his wife, Vicki. ``He continued that with his own boys. He was a very involved father in all aspects of our sons’ lives.″
Gratopp ranks 28th on the all-time Cornhusker scoring list with 826 points, and he is fourth on the all-time career free throw percentage list with a mark of .790.
