INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Reserve Stephanie McCarty scored 16 points as Indiana beat the Seattle Storm 64-45 Friday night, snapping the Fever’s eight-game home losing streak.
McCarty had eight points during a 22-8 run in the second half as Indiana (5-14) won at home for the first time since an 80-59 victory over Miami on June 5.
McCarty shot 4-for-6 from the field _ including 3-for-4 on 3-pointers. Indiana, the league’s best 3-point shooting team, shot 7-for-18 (39 percent) from behind the arc.
Backup center Jurgita Streimikyte added 13 points and Monica Maxwell had nine rebounds for the Fever.
Robin Threatt scored 13 points and Quacy Barnes added 12 for Seattle (3-18), which lost its fifth straight.
McCarty hit a 3-pointer, converted a fast-break layup and made three free throws to lead the decisive eight-minute rally, which pulled the Fever from a 30-29 deficit to a 51-38 lead with 4:10 to play.
Seattle shot 35 percent (16-of-46) on field goals, and missed all six of its 3-point attempts.
