SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (AP) _ A man who had argued with his neighbor over loud music shot him dead in their apartment parking lot then killed himself, authorities said.

Neighbors heard a heated argument, then eight to 10 gunshots, said Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino.

The 25-year-old alleged gunman lived upstairs from the 47-year-old victim and the dispute began months ago over the younger man’s loud music, Amormino said. Their names were not immediately released.

``It appears to be premeditated,″ Amormino said.

Police later identified the alleged gunman as Peter Brandon Mehran and the victim as Jaroslav Liska.

Investigators said they found notes in the younger man’s car describing how he planned to change his appearance and dispose of physical evidence of the shooting. The notes also named a second person authorities believe the man wanted to kill.

Police did not know if the alleged gunman shot himself accidentally, although his injuries appeared to be self-inflicted.

``We’re looking at the possibility he accidentally discharged it or it was a ricochet,″ Amormino said.
