Police seek help in identifying hit-skip driver

March 11, 2019

Fort Wayne police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver whose vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian.

“We have VERY little to go on,” a statement Monday from Lt. Tony Maze said. “From what we do have, it is believed that the suspect vehicle is a gray or pewter colored SUV. It will have front end damage and will possibly be missing some of plastic parts of the vehicle.”

The coroner identified the pedestrian Monday as Marvin D. Hudson, 48, of Fort Wayne. His death was ruled an accident.

Police were called at 3:09 a.m. Saturday to Hanna Street and East Creighton Avenue where they found Hudson dead from what was later determined to be multiple blunt force injuries. Investigators believe he was struck while in the street. No other vehicles or people were around at the time, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 260-427-1373 or 260-427-2240, or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.

Hudson is the 11th person to die in a vehicle crash in Allen County this year.
