Alumni banquet set May 18 in Waterloo
WATERLOO -- The 2019 Waterloo High School alumni banquet is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, in the WHS cafeteria. All WHS graduates are members of the WHS Alumni Association and invited to attend.
This year’s toastmaster is Gabe Haberkorn, class of 1994 and Waterloo parks coordinator. Haberkorn also coaches the WHS cross country and girls basketball teams.
Invitations are no longer mailed to the five-year reunion classes. An invitation that can be used to make a reservation is posted on the school website, www.waterloo.k12.wi.us, under the Community/Waterloo Alumni link. Reservations can also be made by sending a check payable to the WHS Alumni Association to Jean Holzhueter, 252 Highland Terrace, Waterloo, WI 53594.
Cost is $22 per person. Alumni should include their class year and any maiden name. Reservations will be held at the door.
On May 18, check-in will begin at 5 p.m. From 5:30-6:30 p.m., a buffet from Glenn’s Market will be available along with socializing time. The program will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. Scholarships will be awarded by the alumni association and the class of 1969 in honor of their 50th reunion. The attendance trophy is won by the alumni class with the largest number of members in attendance.
For the past 30 years, the WHS Alumni Association has awarded one or more scholarships to seniors attending the banquet. The funds come entirely from alumni donations. The number and amount of these scholarships could be increased if more alumni made donations. Donations of any amount are welcome and can be sent to Holzhueter.
