Monroe library presents show about Washington’s spymaster

MONROE — The Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, 733 Monroe Turnpike, will host the presentation “Benjamin Tallmadge: George Washington’s Commando & Spymaster,” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 18 in the Ehlers Meeting Room.

Watch Vic Casaretti portray Major Benjamin Tallmadge, personally entrusted by General Washington to create and run the colonial spy ring during the Revolution. Hear Tallmadge speak of his outstanding and exciting exploits throughout the war and his role in exposing and stopping the Arnold/Andre affair that would have led to the loss of the war to the British. Casaretti, has also performed as James Monroe, PT Barnum, David Crockett, Benedict Arnold, and John Andre. Come watch as he brings another intriguing historical figure to life.
