Paris prosecutors look into leaks from crash investigation
PARIS (AP) — The Paris prosecutor’s office says it is looking into claims that information from an investigation into the crash of a German passenger jet in the French Alps was wrongly leaked to the media.
Prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Agnes Thibault-Lecuivre said Friday that the judicial probe doesn’t specifically target any individual or organization.
The move follows a lawsuit filed last week by France’s leading pilots union, SNPL, over leaks about the crash investigation. The union is claiming a violation of French law about keeping information about investigations secret while they are ongoing.
Pilots around Europe are angry that information about the final moments of the doomed Germanwings flight was reported in the media before prosecutors and others were informed. The March 24 crash killed all 150 people on board.
