LOCAL COLLEGE: Scranton Splits Softball DH With King’s
The University of Scranton scored three runs in the eighth inning to beat King’s College, 4-1, in the second game of a softball doubleheader Monday.
King’s won the opener, 3-2.
Mackenzie Duffy scored the go-ahead run on an error and Heather Alich then hit a two-run double. Megan Zinn had two hits, including a double, for Scranton (17-6) and also had two doubles and two RBIs in the opener.
Abington Heights graduate Nick Carlini homered and drove in two to lead Keystone College to a 5-3 win over Alvernia University.
Dakota McFadden allowed three runs and struck out nine in eight innings to earn the win for the Giants (5-7).
Quinn Killeen scored five goals to lead the University of Scranton to a 12-10 win over Morrisville State.
