Wrestling | K-W roars back to state tourney

February 18, 2019

LESUEUR — No. 7-ranked Kenyon-Wanamingo made it look easy on Saturday in easily advancing to the state wrestling tournament.

The Knights won twice, cruising past No. 5 seed New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva 62-15, then blasting No. 2 Blue Earth 56-15 in the finals. K-W was seeded first.

It’s the fourth straight year the Knights have advanced to state. They won it all in 2016.

K-W finished with a remarkable eight pins against Blue Earth, ending with one in 14 seconds by Jesse Jackson, at heavyweight.
