Drug, theft cases recently handled by Judge Herbst in Monroeville

Monroeville District Court Judge Jeffrey Herbst handled these cases recently. Defendants will have court dates set in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Charges were filed by Monroeville police unless otherwise noted.

Held for courtChristopher Lewis, 50, of Pitcairn on charges of burglary, criminal mischief, three counts of theft by deception and three counts of receiving stolen property. Charges were filed Aug. 21.Gary Mitchell, 36, of Pittsburgh on charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. Charges were filed July 29.Cornelius Johnson, 55, of Pittsburgh on charges of retail theft and indecent exposure. Charges were filed June 22.Charles Weaver, 63, of Pitcairn on charges of terroristic threats, ethnic intimidation, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Pitcairn police filed the charges Aug. 22.Amir Patel, 48, of Mason, Ohio on charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. Charges were filed April 2.

Waived preliminary hearingsKatherine Miller, 39, of Monroeville on charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children. Charges were filed Feb. 13.Joshua Perkins, 30, of Scottdale on charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of controlled substances and public drunkenness. Charges were filed June 15.Kennan Easley, 27, of Monroeville on charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper sunscreening. Charges were filed June 27.Keith Gee, 24, of Pittsburgh on charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of controlled substances, obscure plates, no rear lights, improper screening and possession of marijuana. Charges were filed Aug. 6.Anthony William Portis, 36, of Pittsburgh on charges of possession of controlled substances, scatter rubbish upon land/stream and turning movements and required signals. Charges were filed Aug. 15.Nathan Piernik, 31, of Glenshaw on charges of theft by deception and conspiracy. Charges were filed Nov. 4

Piernik went before the judge on another case. He waived a preliminary hearing on charges of theft by deception and conspiracy. Charges were filed Nov. 4.Derek Moore II, 28, of Pittsburgh on charges of terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and two counts of simple assault. Charges were filed July 12, 2017.Abu Timbo, 36, of Pittsburgh on charges of dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, two counts of endangering the welfare of children and two counts of possession with intent to deliver. Charges were filed July 13.
