Riverside Medical Group adds urologist
Riverside Healthcare announced Dr. April Szafran, a urologist, is seeing patients at 375 N. Wall St., Suite P630, in Kankakee.
Szafran graduated with her Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Ala. She then completed her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Szafran completed an internship in general surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago, a residency in urology at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, N.Y., and a fellowship in sexual medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md.
In addition, Szafran is a member of the American Urologic Association, the Society of Women in Urology and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. She is board eligible in urology.

KCC holding job fair in Watseka
Kankakee Community College’s Miner South Extension Center will host its Fall Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the extension center in Watseka. It’s open to the public, and admission is free.
More than 15 businesses and industries will be at the fair. Employers will conduct pre-screening interviews for full- and part-time positions.
“The Job Fair is an ideal setting for students, graduates, veterans and community members to learn more about area employers and current opportunities,” said Ken Crite, coordinator of Career Services. “We want participants to dress professionally, bring resumes and to enjoy the experience of meeting employers from throughout the area.”
