Deborah Kay Lavelett Harrison, 56, passed away on December 14, 2018, in Orem, Utah, surrounded by her family. She was born to Arnold and Elaine Lavelett on May 8, 1962, in Denver, Colorado.

Debbie was an accomplished singer and pianist. In her youth, she was an active member of the Colorado Springs First United Methodist Youth Singers and loved telling stories about her national tours. She also performed with hand bell choirs and enjoyed accompanying other performers in religious and secular settings.

Debbie was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She especially enjoyed sharing her musical talents with Primary children.

Debbie married her high school sweetheart, Kris Herbert Harrison, on August 16, 1980 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They were later sealed in the Logan Utah Temple. Together they raised six children, who loved their mother’s wit and grace. Debbie always found ways to serve her family, no matter the circumstances, and took great joy in her interactions with her children and grandchildren. She shared her love of music and the Denver Broncos with her family. She influenced and loved everyone she encountered, many of whom knew her as “Mom.” She will be remembered for her generosity, optimism, and always having a smile on her face.

Debbie is preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Lavelett, and her brother Donald Lavelett. She is survived by her husband, Kris; children: Kristofer, Jeff (Sarah), Aubrey (Layton Shumway), Zachary (Tanya), Tyler (Brittany), Danielle, and Miranda Alexander; grandchildren: Cooper, Ethan, Amelia, Nataley, Gavin, Carter, Erynn and Rylie; father Arnold Lavelett (Marie); sisters: Pamela (Bryon Black), Jodi Lavelett, and Vicki Lavelett (Glenn Jiminez); and grandmother Elsie Trahern.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19th at 11:00 am at the Orem Orchard Stake Center, 810 East 600 North, Orem, Utah, with a brief viewing from 10:00 to 10:30 am. Family and friends are encouraged to attend a viewing held at the same location on Tuesday, December 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Interment at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah.
