Fla. International 98, Fordham 85
MIAMI (AP) _ Raja Bell led all scorers with 30 points and teammate Damien McKnight added 21 as Florida International snapped a two-game losing streaking and beat Fordham 98-85 Sunday night in Miami.
The Golden Panthers (6-4) clung to a 39-36 halftime lead behind 20 first-half points by Bell.
Florida International turned a 51-47 lead into a 23-point cushion with a 23-4 run midway through the second half.
Carlos Arroyo scored the first eight points of the run, then McKnight added the next 11, nine of those coming on three 3-point baskets.
Fordham (4-6) applied a pressure defense to chip away at the lead. A 3-pointer by Scott Harmatuk, who had 16 points in the second half, brought Fordham to within 91-83 with 48 seconds remaining.
Florida International went 5-of-6 from the free throw line in the stretch to put the game away.
Freshman Bevon Robin, who had averaged 28 points over Fordham’s last two games, continued his hot hand with a team-high 23 points.
Harmatuk finished with 19.
