NANCY WILSON PAYS TRIBUTE TO NANCY WILSON

UNDATED (AP) — Nancy Wilson of Heart is offering her condolences for the woman who she spent a lifetime being confused for. Jazz singer Nancy Wilson died last week at the age of 81. Wilson of Heart writes on social media they never met but she always felt she knew her. Wilson says she mistakenly got the jazz singer’s mail a few times. She says just last week, a photo of the jazz singer was used to promote the show for Wilson of Heart. Wilson says teachers used to ask if she was any relation to Wilson the black jazz singer, “and the whole class would erupt in laughter.” Wilson says the other Wilson “did a great thing in the world when her most common of names meant so much to so many people everywhere.”

CARDI B ASKS FANS TO LAY OFF OFFSET

UNDATED (AP) — Cardi B is telling fans to think again if they believe bashing Offset of Migos is a way to support her. Cardi B posted a series of Instagram videos urging fans to leaving the father of her daughter alone while they figure out their marital problems. Cardi B says she understands why comedian Pete Davidson said he didn’t want to be on this earth because of the way people come after him online, and she doesn’t want Offset to have that feeling. She says flaming Offset as a way to support her does not make her feel any better. This comes after Offset surprised Cardi B during her concert Saturday in Los Angeles with flowers and giant signs that said, “Take Me Back Cardi.” Cardi B had some private words with him and the lights came down while Offset and his signs were taken offstage. Offset tweeted yesterday he was “just trying.”

COUNTRY MUSICIANS TURN WEDDING VIDEOS INTO MUSIC VIDEOS

NASHVILLE (AP) — Dan and Shay, Scotty McCreery and Kane Brown see their wedding videos everywhere. It’s because all three acts used footage from their real weddings in videos for their latest singles. Dan and Shay’s Shay Mooney says they wrote “Speechless” about seeing their brides walk down the aisle. He says people ask all the time if they reshot the wedding scenes, but those are really scenes from their respective weddings. Dan Smyers jokes they have not figured out yet how to get their record label to pay for their wedding videographers. McCreery says he loves seeing his video for “This is It” all the time because he sees their happy day, but as he points out, it’s “definitely a one-take kind of music video.” Kane Brown used his wedding video to make the music video for “Good As You.”
