Phoenix man arrested, police say suspect held gun to woman’s head
A 50-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Friday on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person and disorderly conduct. Deputies were dispatched to a Mohave Valley residence Friday after receiving reports of an armed suspect. When deputies arrived, they were greeted by a man who said his girlfriend was inside the residence, and another man was holding a gun to her head.
Deputies announced their presence to those inside, and advised all occupants to exit the home with their hands in the air. According to statements later given by the alleged victims, John W. McGaw entered the residence and pointed a gun at them. According to witness statements, McGaw accused them of being in possession of stolen property.
McGaw was arrested at the scene and booked into Mohave County Jail without incident.
