Gering Police arrested 34-year-old man on drug charges Saturday, Jan. 12
Derrick Jurden was arraigned Monday in Scotts Bluff County Court on charges of possession of a controlled substance, a Class IV felony; possession of marijuana, an infraction; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to an arrest affidavit, a Gering Police officer had applied for and received a search warrant due to a prior incident at a home in the 1600 block of D Street. In executing the warrant, an investigator located a bag and two pre-rolled packaged marijuana joints. The Gering officer applied for and obtained an extended search warrant. In addition to the bag and joints, officers searching the home allegedly located a THC truffle and cannabis infused chocolate, THC edibles and mints in the closet of a bedroom; two vape pen cartridges, a vape pen and suspected marijuana in a bag in the bedroom; one gram of packaged marijuana; a prescription bottle with two flash drives; and a box of white pills suspected to be codeine, a $2 bill and a quarter with white residue.
Jurden’s bond was set at $10,000 and he is next scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16.
