Amber Alert canceled after toddler found safe
A 1-year-old girl who was believed to be in extreme danger Wednesday night was found just after 9 p.m., police said.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department requested the activation of an Amber Alert, and the Indiana State Police issued it around 8:20 p.m. It was canceled after the girl was found.
Police initially said Mary Kryder, the missing toddler, was last seen around 6 p.m. She was with her mother, Ikeca Betzner, 27. Both were found safe and unharmed, said Steve Stone, Allen County Sheriff’s Department public information officer.
Detective Adam Griffith said the girl and Betzner were found north of Fort Wayne. It’s unclear whether charges will be filed, he added.
