NEW DELHI, India (AP) _ A key U.S. envoy emerged from talks with the Indian prime minister Friday and said tensions with nuclear-armed rival Pakistan appeared to be easing.
Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage met with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee a day after huddling with the Pakistani leadership in Islamabad.
``Tensions are a little bit down,″ Armitage said. ``I feel very good about the discussions in India.″
