SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) _ Jeff Tuss threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Scott Harry with 3:46 left in the third quarter for the only scoring of the second half Saturday night as Montana State beat Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo 13-10.

Montana State (2-1) drove 80 yards on 11 plays for its only touchdown of the game. Geoff Groshelle had kicked field goals of 22 and 24 yards for the Bobcats in the first quarter, after Cal Poly (1-2) had taken a 7-0 lead on a 26-yard pass from Mike Fisher to Hitoshi Ono.

The Mustangs extended their lead to 10-6 on 23-yard field goal by James Tuthill late in the second period.

Tuss completed 12 of 25 passes for 159 yards with two interceptions. Montana State’s Matt Engelking led all rushers in the game with 137 yards on 19 carries.

Fisher completed 12 of 29 passes for 132 yards with three interceptions. Antonio Warren led Cal Poly in rushing with 89 yards on 10 carries.

Montana State controlled the ball for 36 minutes, rolling up 361 yards in total offense to just 178 for Cal Poly.

The game was played before a crowd of 7,413 at Mustang Stadium.
