Anderson, Ruby Win Snowboard Titles
AROSA, Switzerland (AP) _ Canada’s Jasey Jay Anderson won the World Cup overall snowboard title Sunday for the third straight year after finishing fifth at the season-ending boardercross.
France’s Karine Ruby captured the women’s overall title with a third-place finish.
Switzerland’s Olivia Nobs won the women’s boardercross Sunday, followed by teammate Tanja Frieden. Ruby already had clinched the title in the discipline.
Among the men, Drew Neilson of Canada won the day’s event while runner-up Xavier Delerue of France clinched the discipline’s championship. Marco Huser of Switzerland was third, followed by Seth Wescott of the United States.
``The only thing overshadowing my title is the fact I didn’t make the finals today,″ Anderson said. ``That took away some of my satisfaction because it really wasn’t a great day for me.″
Anderson was sidelined for a few weeks after a concussion in September. He did not miss any events because of weather postponements.
