Authorities ID man killed in shootout with law enforcement
HOLDEN, Mo. (AP) — Authorities have identified a suspect who was shot and killed during a gunfight with deputies in western Missouri.
The Kansas City Star reports that the slain man was identified Sunday as 70-year-old Michael McEntee, of Centerview, Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says he was killed Saturday after officers responded to a report of a shooting in rural Johnson County, Missouri.
The release says the responding officers were immediately fired upon. The patrol says the officers ultimately exited their vehicle and shot McEntee.
Shattered glass injured two officers, who were taken to a hospital for treatment. The patrol is investigating.
