Stericycle: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) _ Stericycle Inc. (SRCL) on Thursday reported a second-quarter loss of $30.5 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Lake Forest, Illinois-based company said it had a loss of 33 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and amortization costs, came to 56 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 83 cents per share.
The medical waste management company posted revenue of $845.8 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $843.5 million.
Stericycle expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.50 to $2.85 per share, with revenue in the range of $3.35 billion to $3.41 billion.
Stericycle shares have climbed 25% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed 19%. The stock has decreased 34% in the last 12 months.
