SALVADOR, Brazil (AP) _ Monica Seles won the $400,000 Brazil Open on Saturday, beating Yugoslavia's Jelena Dokic 6-3, 6-3.

This was the first title for the top-seeded Seles since she captured an indoor tournament in Oklahoma City in February.

Earlier, Jan Vacek of the Czech Republic and Fernando Meligeni of Brazil advanced to Sunday's men's final.

Vacek won his semifinal, defeating Alexandre Simoni of Brazil 7-6, 6-2. Meligeni downed Augustin Calleri of Argentina 7-6, 7-5.
