GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy says Aaron Rodgers will be given the whole week to get ready for the Packers' game on Sunday against the NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings. He was set to work with the rehab group in practice today. Rodgers threw touchdown passes in the fourth quarter in last week's come-from-behind 24-23 win over the Chicago Bears after returning in the second half from a knee injury.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Nick Foles will start for the Philadelphia Eagles against the Tampa Buccaneers on Sunday. The Super Bowl MVP has filled in since Carson Wentz tore two knee ligaments in Week 14 last year. Coach Doug Pederson says Wentz still hasn't been medically cleared to play. Wentz had surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL last Dec. 13. Foles is 6-1, including the playoffs and the final regular-season game, in which he played only one quarter.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott says rookie quarterback Josh Allen will make his first career start Sunday against the Chargers. The Bills had hoped to bring Allen along slowly after drafting him seventh overall this spring. But they were forced into making a change following one of the worst losses in franchise history. Allen will replace second-year pro Nathan Peterman, who struggled badly in a 47-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the opener.

DETROIT (AP) — Niko Goodrum has left Detroit's game against Houston after the shortstop collided with teammate Christin Stewart on a shallow fly ball to left field in the second inning. The Tigers say Goodrum has a bruised right quad. He was able to walk off the field but was replaced at the start of the third.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have given coach John Tortorella a two-year contract extension. Financial terms weren't disclosed. His current $2 million-a-year contract runs through this season. Tortorella has led the Blue Jackets to the playoffs in his first two full seasons. The 60-year-old is the franchise's all-time leader in wins, guiding Columbus to a 129-87-23 record since being named coach in October 2015.
