Hotel Clearinghouse Submits Bid for Defunct Airline’s Reservation Office
MIAMI (AP) _ Hotels of America Reservation Service has submitted a bid for the Miami reservation office of the defunct Eastern Airlines, the prospective buyer said Tuesday.
The New York-based reservation service said it would offer jobs to old Eastern reservation workers if the sale were approved by U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
The offer, for terms that were not disclosed, was submitted to a court- appointed company handling the sale of Eastern properties, said spokeswoman Laura Davidson.
Craig Cooper, an Eastern vice president in charge of facilities, said he had no knowledge of the offer and would have no comment.
Eastern has been in liquidation since it stopped flying in January after losing a battle to reorganize its business in bankruptcy court.
