Cubs’ Zambrano Suspended for Fight

CHICAGO (AP) _ Chicago Cubs right-hander Carlos Zambrano was suspended Friday for five games and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in a bench-clearing brawl June 4 at a Triple-A game in Utah.
Zambrano, who at the time of the fight was on an injury rehab assignment for the Iowa Cubs, is currently on the Cubs’ major league roster.
He was disciplined by major league baseball through the office of Bob Watson, vice president of On-Field Operations.
Zambrano is has a 3.27 ERA in 11 relief appearances for the Cubs.
