Donald Trump Jr. mocks Jeff Bezos’ Super Bowl ad, says ‘leftist BS’ requires hefty sales pitch
Donald Trump Jr. wasn’t impressed with billionaire Jeff Bezos’ estimated $10 million Super Bowl ad for The Washington Post.
A 60-second commercial narrated by actor Tom Hanks informed millions on Sunday evening that “knowing helps us decide” and “keeps us free,” but the president’s eldest son responded by asking how journalism reached a point where pricey Super Bowl spots are even necessary.
“You know how MSM journalists could avoid having to spend millions on a #superbowl commercial to gain some undeserved credibility?” Mr. Trump Jr. tweeted. “How about report the news and not their leftist BS for a change.”
The commercial ends with The Washington Post’s tagline: “Democracy dies in darkness.”
The rate for ads this year was roughly $5.2 million for 30 seconds of air time.
Post veteran Dan Zak also blasted the commercial with the response: “Now unfreeze our pensions, pay an equal wage, and strengthen maternity benefits.”
