What’s a mom spa? A place just for mamas opened up in NKY
FLORENCE, Ky. (AP) — Every mom needs, not only some time but also a place to herself.
No one knows this better than Heidi Bray, a 35-year-old mom of three.
So when Bray discovered a Cincinnati-born spa concept she knew she wanted to bring it to Northern Kentucky.
“I just love the concept, a spa for mom’s at every stage - prenatal, pregnant and postpartum,” Bray said. “I’m excited to be a part of the life of every mom who visits us and share with her in every stage she goes through.”
Bray will officially open Becoming Mom Spa + Ultrasound, a full-service spa that caters just to mothers, at the end of January at 7715 Mall Road, Florence. Services include massage, facials, nails and ultrasounds. Every product used is natural and safe for expectant mothers. Staff members are specifically trained to work with moms in all stages of motherhood.
The spa concept originated in 2004 with Dawn Bierschwal, who was a former director of purchasing at Procter and Gamble. She opened a location in Mason and saw much success. Current owner Jim Walker, 52 of Montogomery, purchased the business from her in 2016 with the intent to franchise it.
According to Walker, the business is rewarding and enjoyable.
“I most enjoy working with our team members to give them the support to meet the needs of the moms and families we serve,” he said. “It very rewarding to see the new location in Florence come together.”
This is the first franchise location.
