NWS: Light snow in the forecast for parts of Conn.

January 2, 2019

There’s a chance of light snow in the forecast late tonight.

Less than an inch is expected across most of the state. The National Weather Service’s Boston office, however, has a forecast of 1 to 2 inches from Waterbury to Norwich.

Snow is expected to develop after midnight.

“In addition to reduced visibility (in northern Connecticut), expect hazardous travel conditions developing shortly after midnight. Snow will be ongoing, either changing to rain or tapering off toward mid-day.”

The NWS also has light snow in the forecast for southern Connecticut with snow likely between 1 to 6 a.m. Thursday.

Temperatures in southern Connecticut will hover around freezing, according to the NWS’s hourly forecast.

Slippery conditions are likely in northern Connecticut because temperatures will be in the mid-20s.
