Sugar Land home furnishings retailer accepting donations for holiday food drive
Sugar Land’s Ashley HomeStore is accepting donations of nutritious, non-perishable foods Nov. 23 through Dec. 7 for those in need as part of ABC13’s Share Your Holidays Food Drive.
Donations of canned goods can be dropped off at Ashley HomeStore, 16762 Highway 59 South, where they will be delivered to the Houston Food Bank for distribution to its network of nearly 600 hunger relief charities in 18 southeast Texas counties.
Items most requested include canned vegetables, canned tomatoes, canned beans, canned fruits, canned tuna, salmon and chicken. Whole grain pasta, brown rice, peanut butter, granola bars and breakfast bars are also among the most-needed items.
For the safety of others, opened items, those with expired dates and homemade items cannot be accepted.
Ashley HomeStore in Sugar Land, (713) 221-4040, is open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
Ashley HomeStore operates 14 locations in the greater Houston area, each of which is accepting donations for the ABC13 Share Your Holidays food drive.
