Two-hour delay for Greenwich schools on Thursday
GREENWICH — All Greenwich Public Schools will start two hours later Thursday because administrators are expecting extremely cold weather in the morning, Director of Communications Kim Eves said Wednesday evening.
Temperatures are expected to plummet into the single digits Wednesday night, with a low of 4 degrees, and will not climb back into the double-digits until 11 a.m. Thursday. A high of 17 degrees is projected for Thursday.
The worst of the cold snap will end Thursday, with a low of 16 degrees and a high of 24 degrees Friday.
A snow squall moved briefly through Greenwich, causing whiteout conditions in some areas on Wednesday afternoon.
