ARLES, France (AP) _ A bus traveling through southern France veered off a highway and crashed into a house, killing six people and injuring 12, authorities said Wednesday.

The accident happened Tuesday night between the cities of Arles and Nimes near the French Mediterranean coast.

The bus was traveling from Milan to Spain with two Spanish drivers and 16 Moroccan nationals when it left the road for an unknown reason and crashed into a house, police said. A woman was inside the home but was not injured.

Some rescuers were still on the scene Wednesday morning trying to stabilize the house.
