LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) _ Alex Glueck led a 1-2 finish by ski jumpers from Steamboat Springs, Colo., on Wednesday and bested a field of 30 to win the 90-meter 53rd Summer Ski Jump in Lake Placid.

With temperatures in the mid-70s under sunny skies, Glueck recorded the two best efforts of the day with jumps of 97.5 and 101.5 meters. The winner accumulated a total of 263 distance and style points on the artificial surfaces of the MacKenzie-Intervale Ski Jumping Complex.

Glueck's teammate, Tommy Schwall, grabbed the silver medal with jumps of 95 and 100.5 meters and 257.5 points. Nagano Olympian Casey Colby of Lake Placid came out of retirement and jumped to the bronze medal with attempts of 93.5 and 94.5 meters for 240 points.

The venue has incorporated porcelain tiles since 1984 to propel the jumpers down the in-run into the air. The landing hill is covered with a synthetic surface. Both are sprinkled with water to allow the skis to glide.
