WAYNE “JUNIOR” RIDER

WAYNE “JUNIOR” RIDER, 91, of Ona, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1927, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late Harold Wayne and Erma Woodrum Rider. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Iva Mae Rider. Junior was a member of the US Navy during World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He is survived by two daughters, Kim Rider of Ona and Barbara (Larry) of Kenova; five sons, Mike (Carolyn) Rider of Milton, Dana (Charlotte) Rider of Rock Hill, S.C., Greg (Melinda) Rider of Wilmington, N.C., Steve Rider of Ona and Ralph Rider of Ona; six grandchildren, David, Danny, Deah, Jackie, Jamie and Tina; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Ted) Olson of Durham, N.C.; and two brothers, Melvin (Beverly) Rider of Ocean City, Md., and Bob Rider of Ona. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Pastor Greg Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
