ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) _ Legions of soldiers sealed off military strongman Gen. Sani Abacha's residence and office in Nigeria's capital Monday.

No visitors, except the top military brass, were permitted to enter the secluded leader's compound amid growing reports on the state of Abacha's health.

In an unusual move, senior aides with the ruling military junta summoned journalists to the State House for a briefing Monday, but they were quickly turned away by the soldiers.
