Police confiscate 140 bags of heroin in Riverside bust

GREENWICH — Police confiscated 140 small packets of heroin, over 60 grams, and arrested two men on drug charges, authorities announced Monday.

Police detectives were in the vicinity of West View Place in Riverside late last week when a “person of interest” arrived, according to an arrest summary. Authorities said a man from upstate New York, Adam Rivera, 28, of Fourth Ave., Watervliet, drove to the Riverside neighbor Thursday morning. When questioned by police, according to the report, “He admitted he was delivering heroin to a local resident.”

Police said they found 27 folds of heroin in Rivera’s possession, as well as 100 more in his vehicle. Authorities also recovered $1,515 in cash, they said.

He was charged with criminal attempt to sell narcotics, illegal possession and possession with intent to sell. He posted a $1,000 bond.

The local resident who was allegedly going to receive the delivery was also charged. Donald Hrnciar, 50, of West View Place, was charged with criminal attempt to possess narcotics. He was released without bail.
