CHICAGO _ The Illinois Lottery’s transition to a new central gaming system has caused troubles in parts of Illinois, including overpayments to winners, problems with vending machine scratch-off sales and some employees being unable to log into the system. —CENSUS ASSISTANCE GRANTS: Community organizations may apply for $4 million in grants to gear up for the 2020 Census and to help immigrants interact with government agencies.

—U OF ILLINOIS-SOLAR: The University of Illinois is looking to build a second solar farm on campus-owned land to help meet the university’s clean-energy targets.

—FEDERAL DISTRICT-BICENTENNIAL: The federal court system in Illinois where Abraham Lincoln argued cases before becoming president and where Al Capone saw his Prohibition Era crime spree come to an end is marking the 200th year since its founding.
