Caring for animals during hazardous weather

Winter hit West Michigan with a vengeance this week with storm warnings in effect throughout the region and windchill temperatures threatening to dip to 20 to 30 degrees below zero, and animals are feeling the chill as much as anyone.

Local animal advocacy groups, veterinarians and farmers are urging extreme caution when it comes to caring for various animals during the ongoing winter storm.
