KANSAS CITY, Mo. _ The country’s top child abuse hotline recently launched its first text line, and now the nonprofit is looking to Missouri for help determining the efficiency of the service. SENT: 335 words.

ST. JOSEPH _ Missouri lawmakers are expected to consider legislation to restrict the use of drones near state prisons after recent sightings sparked concern among corrections officials that weapons or drugs were being dropped inside the grounds. SENT: 300 words.

DEADLY SHOOTING-JEFFERSON CITY _ Authorities have identified a man arrested and a victim in a deadly shooting in central Missouri.

OBIT-HEAD START FOUNDER _ Edward Zigler, a Yale University professor who helped create the Head Start program for disadvantaged preschoolers in the 1960s, has died at his Connecticut home. He was 88 years old.

LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT _ Michael Shonrock has been fired as president of Lindenwood University’s flagship campus in suburban St. Louis.

THREE CHILDREN KILLED-CHARGES _ A 25-year-old man who was allegedly drunk and driving a vehicle that he knew had mechanical problems has been charged in the deaths of three children who were killed in a wreck in 2017.
