NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) _ Eric Leftwich scored 24 points, including two crucial free throws in the final half-minute, leading Stephen F. Austin to an 80-75 victory over Baylor Thursday night.

SFA’s Lumberjacks (10-10) led 76-73 with 28 seconds left, but the Bears (8-16) pulled to within a point when Roddrick Miller was fouled on his 3-point attempt and made two of three free throws at 0:22.

Leftwich, fouled on the inbounds pass, made both his foul shots to restore the lead to three points. After Miller missed another 3-point attempt, Rontrek Floyd grabbed the rebound and threw to an open Leftwich, who put the game away with a slam.

Jayvan Rouzan had 20 rebounds for SFA.

Doug Brandt and Aundre Branch scored 17 points each to lead Baylor. Branch also had 10 rebounds.

The victory was SFA’s first over Baylor since a 44-42 decision in 1935. SFA is in the Southland Conference and Baylor in the Southwest Conference.

The Lumberjacks led at the half, 42-39, but Baylor came out with a 16-8 run for a 55-50 lead. Roynal Bridgeforth’s jumper at 3:47 put SFA back into the lead at 72-70.

SFA hit 15 of 19 free throws, to only 5 of 9 for Baylor, and had a 58-40 rebound edge.
