Man arrested after having gun near strip club
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Police have arrested a South Hadley man they say brandished a shotgun outside a Springfield strip club, and used the butt to smash a club window.
John Peloquin was arrested at about 8:45 p.m. Sunday and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on charges including assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say the 51-year-old Peloquin began threatening employees of the 5th Alarm Lounge strip club after he was asked to leave for getting in an argument with his stepdaughter, who is a dancer at the club.
As an employee was escorting him out, he pulled a shotgun shell from his pocket and threw it, then went to his car to retrieve the gun.
Police say he smashed the window when employees locked the doors. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
