Norfolk Community Theatre to present Peter and the Starcatcher
NORFOLK - The first performance of the Norfolk Community Theatre’s second play of the season is coming up on Thursday.
Board member Libby McKay says they’ll be presenting Peter and the Starcatcher, a prequel to Peter Pan.
McKay says during this play you discover how Peter Pan received his name, how Hook lost his hand, and how a young girl named Molly saved the day and the treasure.
She says they’ll have specially designed puppets, live music, and even live sound effects produced by Foley designer Paul Muncy.
“He has a trap kit on stage, a pitcher with water in it for water sounds, little bells and broken pieces of metals. Hearing the sounds come out of what he uses is amazing.”
McKay says the play opens Thursday at the Cox Activities Center theatre, runs through December 1st and then December 6th through the 8th with all performances starting at 7:30. The matinee performance will be December 2nd at 2.
