The following preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Susan Mankamyer in Boswell:

Driving under the influence

Matthew Szostak, 53, Salmon Avenue, Johnstown, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and a summary offense.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 9:13 p.m. June 22, Conemaugh Township police stopped a vehicle driven by Szostak at Krings and Belmont streets in Belmont for multiple traffic violations.

Szostak had a blood alcohol content of 0.278 percent, according to the affidavit. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:50 a.m. Aug. 29.

Daniel Miller Jr., 51, Grass Avenue, Johnstown, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and three summary offenses.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 8:09 p.m. June 21, Conemaugh Township police stopped a vehicle driven by Miller along Fender Lane for multiple traffic violations.

Miller had a blood alcohol content of 0.206 percent, according to the affidavit. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:40 a.m. Aug. 29.

Tracy Foor, 42, Raystown Road, Hopewell, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence, corruption of minors, intentional possession of a controlled drug by a person not registered, drug paraphernalia possession and a summary offense.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 10:03 p.m. May 26, Conemaugh Township police were called to The Silver Bell in Davidsville for a report that a woman had been in the bathroom for a period of time, leaving a child unsupervised.

Foor failed a field sobriety test and police found multiple drugs and paraphernalia on her, according to the affidavit.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Aug. 29.

John Neimiller Jr., 24, 1st Street, Stoystown, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and six summary offenses.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 2:06 a.m. June 22, state police stopped a vehicle driven by Neimiller along Garrett Avenue in Boswell Borough for swerving.

Neimiller had a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent, according to the affidavit.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Aug. 15.

Leigha Critchfield, 26, Quemahoning Street, Boswell, has been charged with four counts of driving under the influence, marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession and six summary offenses.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 2:25 a.m. May 1 state police stopped a vehicle driven by Critchfield along Blacks Hill Road in Jenner Township for swerving.

During the stop, police found marijuana and a glass pipe in a purse. A blood test showed Critchfield had a blood alcohol content of 0.093 percent and marijuana in her system, according to the affidavit.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Aug. 29.

Richard Maljan, 52, Old Route 217, Derry, has been charged with driving under the influence.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 7:17 p.m. May 17, state police responded to a one-vehicle crash along Route 30 in Quemahoning Township. Maljan was the driver.

He refused a blood test, according to the affidavit.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 29.

Illegally operating a vehicle

Kevin Rainey, 60, Tire Hill Road, Conemaugh Township, has been charged with illegally operating a vehicle without ignition interlock and five summary offenses.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 5:13 p.m. July 8, Conemaugh Township police spotted Rainey driving a motorcycle on Tire Hill Road. Rainey is not supposed to drive a vehicle without an ignition interlock.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:35 a.m. Aug. 29.

Drug possession

Shawn Green, 30, Main Street, Boswell, has been charged with intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered, drug paraphernalia possession and a summary offense.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, Green was a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop at about 2:05 a.m. May 28, along Pine Springs Road in Jenner Township. During the stop, police found Suboxone and a smoking device loaded with THC wax. Green admitted that the items were his, according to the affidavit.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 29.

Aggravated assault

Justin Hartman, 32, no address, has been charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and a summary offense.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, Hartman cut a co-worker three times with a knife while working for a mulch company in Stonycreek Township. The co-worker was trying to remove Hartman from a piece of machinery at the time, according to the affidavit.

Hartman was arraigned July 10 before District Judge Ken Johnson, of Somerset, and was sent to the Somerset County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 15.

Forgery

Chad Stanton, 37, Buttermore Boulevard, Connellsville, has been charged with five third-degree felony counts of forgery, two third-degree felony counts of theft by deception, two third-degree felony counts of theft by unlawful taking, three second-degree felony counts of identity theft and securing execution documents by deception.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, Stanton unlawfully transferred $48,980 worth of property in Hollsopple and Jenner Township to himself by using deceptive tactics.

An online court document did not list a preliminary hearing date Friday.
