Accident in Somerset

No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning at the intersection of East Main Street and Plank Road in Somerset Borough.

Amy Pyle, 60, of Friedens, was eastbound and failed to stop at a red light, according to borough police. Upon braking, her vehicle slid, striking a second vehicle driven by Erin Kelley, 20, of Somerset, who was proceeding through a green light from Plank Road.

Both vehicles sustained front-end damage and were towed from the scene, according to police. The Somerset Volunteer Fire Department and Somerset ambulance service assisted police.

Debit card used

Amanda Housel, of Somerset, reported that someone used her debit card to deduct $93.28 from her account on the morning of Jan. 18, according to Somerset Borough police. She told police that the individual may have retrieved the information from her card and used it to complete the transaction. Police have a suspect in the case.

Wallet stolen

Somerset Borough police are investigating the theft of a wallet.

Maria Raley, of Somerset, works for a home health agency. While caring for a patient at 800 E. Main St. on Tuesday, she left her purse unattended and her wallet was removed, according to police. When she later discovered that the wallet was missing, she contacted her financial institutions and canceled her cards, police said. The investigation is continuing.
