Pamplico Water System water found to be safe to drink, boil water advisory lifted
PAMPLICO, S.C. -- Water from the Pamplico water system has been found to be safe to drink.
“The Town of Pamplico advises all water customers who use water from the Town Water System, in Florence County that they no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking,” according to a release issued by the town early Wednesday afternoon.
“Bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by our laboratory on Wednesday. The results of the sampling indicate that the system is now safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.”
The declaration of safe water will allow Hannah-Pamplico Elementary/Middle School to open as a Hurricane Florence evacuation shelter Thursday.
