Boston man pleads guilty in false license plot
BOSTON (AP) — A former employee of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles has pleaded guilty to giving driver’s licenses to people he knew were using false identities.
Alexander Brewer of Boston pleaded guilty on Tuesday to conspiracy to produce false information documents. He faces up to five years in prison at sentencing scheduled for Sept. 18.
Prosecutors said that the 24-year-old Brewer of Boston while working in the RMV’s Revere office allowed people he knew were using legal Puerto Rico identity documents that didn’t belong to them to get state driver’s licenses from December 2011 through December 2012.
RMV auditors discovered the irregularities and reported them to law enforcement.
