Library celebrates Mardis Gras

March 7, 2019

Mardi Gras festivities were in full swing during Fat Tuesday at the Ludington Library.

Young children and parents wore bead necklaces, created paper masked, munched on paczkis, played bingo and more Tuesday afternoon at the library.

“We’re having a wonderful time,” said Emily Garland, children’s librarian for Mason County District Library. “We’re celebrating with paczkis, crafts and games.

“The Ludington and Scottville libraries are glad to have so many come to our parties and celebrate reading month, as well as the other events going on in March,” she said.

Garland added that the Mason County District Library will also host parties at 4 p.m. at the Ludington and Scottville libraries on Thursday, March 14 for Pi Day and St. Patrick’s Day on Friday, March 15. Pi Day will include pies and math games, she said.
