WALNUT GROVE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fiery crash that killed two people.

The highway patrol says in a news release the single-vehicle crash occurred Friday night near a recreation area in the Hardin County community of Walnut Grove near the Alabama state line.

The highway patrol says the SUV caught fire after it went off a road and hit a tree. The two occupants were burned beyond recognition.

The bodies have not been identified. Investigators are trying to learn the vehicle's make and model.
